At least the memes and Twitter jokes are good after J.J. Watt signs with the Arizona Cardinals

At least the Twitter reaction had some gems. Here were some of the best.

Wisconsin brand Kwik Trip understands how we all feel.

Much of the discourse focused on Watt reuniting with DeAndre Hopkins, famously traded from Arizona to Houston before last season.

Another new teammate, Chandler Jones, will apparently be celebrating over dinner.

Watt joins a crowded NFC West, including a Seattle team that has been in some turmoil this offseason with quarterback (and Watt's fellow University of Wisconsin alumnus) Russell Wilson reportedly antsy in his situation.

If it makes Packers fans feel better, they weren't the only ones left disappointed. The Buffalo Bills, beaten in remarkable fashion by the Cardinals on a last-second Hail Mary last year, were also burned. As were the Cleveland Browns, whose owner is not a pilot, as one tweet noted. That was a reference to Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill, who apparently flew his private jet to pick up Watt and his wife, Kelia Ohai, and bring them to Arizona for a post-announcement visit.

This...makes us feel old.

Still other reactions riffed on the tweet Watt used to announce his new team, including the "source: me" language. That included the Carolina Mudcats in the Milwaukee Brewers minor-league chain. Some responses had ... greater degree of graphic-design perfection than others.

Remember the debunked Peloton account that was circulating mere hours before Watt announced his free-agency destination? Watt told everyone it couldn't be real because he didn't have a bike. So now...
