Arriving/staying

» Tyler Ervin, RB/KR: The veteran, multi-purpose running back and kick returner will return to Green Bay for 2020, PackersNews.com confirmed. Ervin was claimed off waivers in early December and immediately had a positive impact in the punt-return game (9.6 avg.) and was worked into the offense more. He is re-signing for a one-year deal for about $1 million.

» Devin Funchess, WR: The NFL Network reported the Packers agreed to terms with the 26-year-old veteran, who missed all but one game of 2019 with a broken collarbone in Indianapolis (three catches, 32 yards in that game). A second-round pick of Carolina in 2016, Funchess caught 164 passes for 2,265 yards and 21 touchdowns for the Panthers over four seasons while missing only two games.

» Will Redmond, S: The 26-year-old defensive back is returning. The former cornerback, who was a third-round pick of the San Francisco 49ers in 2016, has emerged as a versatile player in the secondary as a safety for the Packers. He played 26.3% of the defensive snaps a year ago and made 36 tackles.

» Marcedes Lewis, TE: The Packers (and Aaron Rodgers) appreciate having Lewis in the locker room and along the line of scrimmage, so the team brought back the 35-year-old veteran for his 15th season and third with the Packers, per ESPN. It was a one-year, $2.25 million deal. Lewis caught 15 passes for 156 yards and one touchdown in 2019.

» Rick Wagner, OT: Per the Houston Chronicle, the Packers agreed to a two-year, $11 million deal with the West Allis native and University of Wisconsin alumnus before free agency began. Like Christian Kirksey, the 30-year-old was free to sign anywhere as he was released by Detroit on March 13. Wagner was a fifth-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens in 2013 when current Packers director-football operations Milt Hendrickson was in the Baltimore front office.

» Christian Kirksey, LB: The Packers didn't have to wait for free agency to officially begin as Kirksey was released by the Browns in early March. PackersNews.com confirmed he signed a two-year, $16 million deal to bolster the linebacking corps, though he has played just nine games the last two years due to hamstring and pectoral injuries. Kirksey, who was drafted in Cleveland when current Packers defensive coordinator Mike Pettine was the head coach, will play inside linebacker in Green Bay. He was a team captain for the Browns and did not miss a game from 2014-17 and recorded 286 combined tackles over the 2016-17 seasons.

» Mason Crosby, K: The longtime Packers kicker wasn’t allowed to hit free agency, as the club elected to re-sign the 35-year-old to a 3-year, $12.9 million contract. Crosby is coming off a career year in field goal percentage (91.7%).

Departing

» Ibraheim Campbell, S: The veteran safety and favorite of defensive coordinator Mike Pettine signed in Tennessee, per ESPN. He appeared in three games in 2018 before tearing an ACL. He re-signed last season and played in seven games once he recovered, making 14 tackles and forcing a fumble. He was often Pettine's choice to play a hybrid-linebacker position.

» Jason Spriggs, OT: Per ESPN, the Chicago Bears are signing the tackle who spent all of 2019 on injured reserve after suffering an injury in training camp. Former Packers general manager Ted Thompson traded up in the 2016 draft to take Spriggs out of Indiana in the second round at No. 48 overall. The 25-year-old appeared in 36 games in three years with nine starts. 

» Geronimo Allison, WR: The Detroit Lions announced they signed Allison, who caught a career-high 34 passes but for just 287 yards (8.4 avg.) with two touchdowns. In the four games Davante Adams missed he caught 10 passes for 108 yards. The undrafted free agent out of Illinois caught 89 balls for 1,045 yards and six touchdowns in four seasons in Green Bay.

» Danny Vitale, FB: The fullback signed in New England after after he played in 15 games, but he wasn't used that often on offense after appearing in 15.6% of the snaps. He caught seven passes for 97 yards and rushed just one time for three yards. He missed the last game of the regular season and playoffs with a knee injury that required a procedure after the year.

» B.J. Goodson, ILB: The 26-year-old inside linebacker and starter in the Packers' base defense is headed to Cleveland to sign with the Browns. Acquired for a seventh-round pick from the New York Giants three days before the season opener, Goodson played in 15 games (nine starts) and made 37 tackles. There was mutual interest in keeping him in Green Bay, per his agent Christina Phillips.

» Kyler Fackrell, OLB: PackersNews.com confirmed that the third-round pick out of Utah State in 2016 signed a one-year, $4.6 million deal to play for the New York Giants. After a 10.5-sack breakout campaign in 2018, the Packers signed Preston Smith and Za'Darius Smith and drafted Rashan Gary in the first round and Fackrell's snaps diminished last season. He finished with just one sack in a reduced role. Tom Silverstein and Jim Owczarski reported in February the linebacker would be looking for an opportunity elsewhere.

» Bryan Bulaga, RT: PackersNews.com confirmed the right tackle signed in Los Angeles to play with the Chargers, ending a decade-long run anchoring the right side of the offensive line protecting Aaron Rodgers. The NFL Network reported the deal was for three years and $30 million. Bulaga was the youngest player to start in a Super Bowl in his rookie season in 2010. Tom Silverstein reported that no contract talks had taken place as of the NFL scouting combine in late February.

» Blake Martinez, LB: According to multiple reports, the New York Giants will sign Martinez to a three-year, $30 million deal. Martinez has made at least 140 combined tackles in each of the last three seasons for the Packers – including a team-record 203 last year – and emerged as a defensive leader after being selected in the fourth round of the 2016 draft out of Stanford. 

» Jimmy Graham, TE: The veteran tight end was released March 12 and ESPN reported he signed with the Chicago Bears for $16 million over two years, with $9 million guaranteed. He was slated to earn $10 million with the Packers in 2020. Graham, 33, caught 93 passes for 1,083 yards and five touchdowns in two seasons for the Packers. He did not miss a game despite playing through knee and hand injuries. 

Unrestricted free agents

Need to know: The negotiating window for would-be free agents by other teams began Monday. The new league year began at 3 p.m. CT Wednesday, which is when players can formally sign contracts for 2020. Official deals may come in slowly, as the NFL has prohibited free agent visits to facilities. 

» Tramon Williams, DB: Told ESPN he wants to continue playing, whether it is in Green Bay or elsewhere.

» Jared Veldheer, OT: There was initial mutual interest in returning to the Packers but it appears the Wagner signing will lead to other chances for the veteran elsewhere, per Jim Owczarski

Rumors

ESPN said the Packers expressed some interest in Kansas City receiver DeMarcus Robinson before signing Devin Funches. PackersNews.com confirmed that but learned the Packers have moved on from Robinson after the Funchess signing... The Packers might be in the trade market for a receiver from San Francisco, and before signing in New Orleans, former 49ers wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders reportedly had interest from the Packers. ... ESPN says the Packers have expressed some interest in a veteran tight end that head coach Matt LaFleur has some experience with...

One reporter believed the Packers would be in the market for a big name at wide receiver in Dallas' Amari Cooper – an idea one league source told PackersNews.com wasn't that far-fetched – but Cooper has re-signed in Dallas for five years and $100 million (with $60 million guaranteed). ... The NFL Network and ESPN reported the Packers had interest in tight end Austin Hooper, but Hooper ultimately signed a reported 4-year, $44 million deal with the Cleveland Browns. The 25-year-old was a third-round pick of the Atlanta Falcons in 2016 and had made the Pro Bowl the last two years.

Restricted free agents

Need to know: Packers had until Wednesday to offer either a first-round ($4.6 million), second-round ($3.2 million) or original-round ($2.1 million) deal to these players. They are free to negotiate with other teams and agree to a contract. If the Packers put a tender on the player but choose not to match, they will receive the tendered compensation.

Fullback Malcolm Johnson was not tendered an offer, so he is now an unrestricted free agent.

Exclusive rights free agents

Need to know: Players are not free to negotiate with other teams. The Packers hold their rights, so if they are offered the tender but do not take it, they cannot play.

» Robert Tonyan, TE: Has been tendered, per Tom Silverstein. Had core muscle surgery in the offseason with the expectation he would have been ready for the off-season conditioning program if it had not been postponed. Per ESPN, signed his tender on April 24. 

» Jake Kumerow, WR: Has been tendered, per Jim Owczarski

» Chandon Sullivan, CB: Has been tendered, per Jim Owczarski

» Tyler Lancaster, DL: Has been tendered his ERFA offer, per Olivia Reiner. 

» Allen Lazard, WR: Has been tendered, per his agent.
