Brett Favre: New Bucs QB Tom Brady might be most affected by NFL coronavirus restrictions

Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre said the NFL player who could be most affected by the coronavirus pandemic-driven limitations for the upcoming season is Tom Brady. 

Brady, who signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this offseason after 20 seasons with the New England Patriots, had unfortunate timing for picking a new team, according to Favre. 

"For a guy like Tom Brady, you've got to be scratching your head," Favre told USA TODAY Sports. "Of all the times to change teams, he's gotta be saying, 'How am I going to get the chemistry I'm wanting to have with the guys, with my new (teammates)' with everything that's limiting getting ready for a season."

Favre has an understanding of what it's like to go to a new team after spending most of his 20-year career in one place, playing for the Green Bay Packers for 16 seasons before he retired and unretired. He played for the New York Jets in 2008 and Minnesota Vikings in 2009 and 2010 at the end of his career. 

Favre added that he "can't imagine a 'Monday Night Football' game at (the Packers') Lambeau Field without fans."

"Like so many other things, the (2020) season is going to have an asterisk, and there are so many unknowns," Favre said. "If a player tests positive, is he going to be quarantined, or will they quarantine the whole team?"

Favre spoke with USA TODAY Sports in a phone interview as part of his affiliation as a brand ambassador for CBD product Green Eagle, which is hemp-derived and used for muscle recovery and pain relief.
