Dear Taylor Swift: If you come to Green Bay this weekend, you must check out these local spots

GREEN BAY — While it's unknown if Taylor Swift will be making her way to Lambeau Field this weekend for the Packers-Chiefs game, Green Bay is hoping good karma will bring the pop icon to town.

Swift is finished touring for the rest of the year having played her last 2023 show of The Eras Tour Nov. 26 in Brazil, freeing her up Sunday to visit Green Bay, where her boyfriend Travis Kelce is playing for Kansas City.

It may be in our wildest dreams that Swift comes to Packerland, but to make sure she's ready for a visit, here's a list of local spots Swift should check out:

Cheese curds from 1919 Kitchen & Tap are a must

Surprisingly, Wisconsin has no official state food, but it's safe to say it would be cheese for America's Dairyland. And one of the best ways to indulge in the food is cheese curds.

Taylor Swift attends the "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" concert movie world premiere Oct. 11 at AMC The Grove 14 in Los Angeles.

Swift won't have to go far to get some of the best cheese curds in town. At the 1919 Kitchen & Tap inside Lambeau Field Atrium, she can order the Parmesan-breaded cheese curds that are served with herbed ranch and romesco dipping sauces.

While she's there, Swift can also try the mini brat trio and get a taste of the classic Wisconsin food.

Can't come to Wisconsin without trying an Old-Fashioned

Swift isn't much of a beer drinker and tends to opt for white wine or other cocktails, so the many Green Bay breweries are off the list.

But the popstar is known for drinking Old-Fashioneds, or at least singing about them in her song "Getaway Car" from the "Reputation" album. Since that's the only album left for Swift to re-record besides her debut, it's obvious that in her Reputation era she should try a Wisconsin Old-Fashioned.

Swift is a fan of Tennessee whiskey, but she'll have to settle for brandy like a true Wisconsinite.

The Walnut Room inside Hotel Northland in downtown Green Bay has as a signature Wisconsin Old-Fashioned made with brandy, bitters, Luxardo cherry, a sugar cube and the choice of having it sweet, pressed or with house-made sour. The Walnut Room also has a classic smoked Old-Fashioned and a maple cider version.

Get a taste of Wisconsin winters ice-skating in the Titletown District

To get a taste of Wisconsin winters, Swift could pop across the street from Lambeau for ice-skating at Titletown. Unfortunately the Ariens tubing hill is not open for the season, so she'll have to make do with the fire pits, hot cocoa and holiday lights.

Christmas is one of Swift's favorite holidays because she grew up on a Christmas tree farm in Pennsylvania before moving to Nashville and starting her music career. She can get into the holiday spirit as well as kick off her birthday celebrations. Swift's birthday is in two weeks on Dec. 13.

Back in 2020, at the now closed The Exclusive Co., Green Bay resident Brandy Baenen kept a box of Swift's autographed "folklore" CDs safe after a UPS driver dropped them off before the store opened. Baenen was in line outside the record shop waiting to buy one of the signed albums, and instead of walking off with the box, she waited for record store manager Tom Smith to show up.

Smith posted about Beanen's good deed, which the Press-Gazette wrote about. The story was picked up by USA TODAY and even the "Today" show, going viral in the Swiftie world.

A couple of weeks later, Baenen got a box of Swift merchandise, including a vinyl copy of the “Lover” album signed with a note. There was also a handwritten card, complete with Swift's personal wax seal on the envelope.

While The Exclusive Co. is no longer open, Smith is now the manager of the Green Bay UFO Museum Gift Shop and Records at 2248 University Ave., where Swift could peruse vinyl records and other music paraphernalia or reminisce.

She should stop at Kwik Trip during her quick trip to Green Bay

Almost as well-known as the Packers is the iconic Wisconsin convenience store Kwik Trip. There are over 500 in the state and almost 20 in the Green Bay area alone.

They're famous for being the most luxurious of convenience stores so hopefully they're Swift's style. She can grab a quick snack before jetting back to Kansas City with boyfriend Travis Kelce.
