Nine things to know as the Green Bay Packers prepare to host a divisional playoff game against Los Angeles Rams

GREEN BAY – Fans attending the Green Bay Packers-Los Angeles Rams game at Lambeau Field will find things a tad different than the last time they were there.

The game is scheduled for 3:35 p.m. Saturday. If the Packers win, they will host either New Orleans or Tampa Bay on Jan. 24 for the NFC championship game. The Packers have not decided whether to allow fans for that game.

Here are some things to know about Saturday's game:

A year-long absence

The last time paying fans were in Lambeau Field was one year ago Tuesday, when the Packers defeated the Seattle Seahawks 28-23 in a divisional playoff game. Attendance was 78,998. Attendance Saturday will be more in the range of 7,000-8,000 fans, including 6,000 who pay to get in.

It will be the first time paying fans are allowed into Lambeau this season because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Fair weather ahead

The early forecast calls for cloudy skies with a high of 27, which is normal Wisconsin winter weather. There are chances of snow on Thursday and Friday, but none forecast for Saturday. Saturday's low is forecast to be 16.

The average high temperature in January in Green Bay is 26. The average high temperatures in Los Angeles in January are in the high 60s, but temperatures in L.A. this week will be in the 70s and 80s. Advantage Packers.

First-come, first-served tickets

Tickets will be sold only to season ticket holders who notified the Packers before the season that they'd be willing to buy tickets. About 20% of the season ticket holders, or some 7,600, opted in. Those fans were contacted by email with details on how and when to buy tickets beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday. The sale will be on a first-come, first-served basis on the Ticketmaster website.

No resales

Tickets will be sold for pods of two, four and six seats. The idea is that attendees will be from the same household. All tickets are electronic and will only be on the electronic device of the purchaser. Tickets can not be transferred, which means there will be no resale market for the game.

Ticket prices, set by the NFL, will range from $127 for seats in the end zones to $177 between the 20 yards lines, plus a service fee from Ticketmaster.

COVID-19 precautions

Temporary seat backs will be prepositioned throughout the bowl corresponding to ticket sales to enforce social distancing.

COVID-19 safety measures will be in full force, including mandatory wearing of masks, except when eating or drinking, and social distancing, which includes people not getting outside their pods to interact with other pods.

Ushers will remind people to wear their masks or keep their distances when necessary. They are doing their jobs. Be nice to them.

Lambeau parking available

Parking passes can be purchased separately by the person buying the tickets. The passes also are electronic and cannot be transferred. The parking lots will open two hours before game time (instead of the usual four hours).

Tailgating in Lambeau Field parking lots this year is prohibited.

Some street parking is available in neighborhoods around Lambeau Field, particularly on the north side of the stadium in Green Bay. Ashwaubenon has parking restrictions on some streets near the stadium.

Assigned entry gates

Tickets will identify the gate ticket holders should use to enter. As a rule, fans will enter gates nearest their seats, but the procedure also keeps too many people from gathering in any one area.

Carry-in ban

No carry-ins will be allowed, including clear bags or large purses. Small clutch purses and loosely carried blankets or clothing will be allowed.

Limited concessions

Concession stands will be open, although fewer than normal and with more limited menus. The idea is to get people in and out more quickly. Social distancing will be applied.

Lambeau Field is cashless, so all purchases, including in the Packers Pro Shop, must be by credit or debit card.
