Everything you need to know about Tom Brady's ballsy 'Ted 2' cameo

Tom Brady has a great cameo walk-on in Ted 2. The famed bear Ted (voiced by Seth MacFarlane) and John (Mark Wahlberg) seek out the NFL stud as the perfect sperm donor.

Who could be better, especially in Boston?

We already know the filmmakers had to add a Deflategate joke  when the news broke long after the Brady cameo was filmed last summer. Ted 2 had to be current and timely.

Here are some key facts as to how Brady was landed for his big screen magic:

BRADY WAS NOT A BIG 'TED' BELIEVER AT FIRST

When Wahlberg had his famous buddy on the set of the original Ted in 2011, Brady was skeptical about an R-rated movie featuring a talking bear. Say Wahlberg:
"I was pitching the concept. He just kind of had the same reaction that everyone else did. That this was kind of ridiculous, that I was probably taking like 10 steps back in my career doing this but maybe I'll figure it out. But then he saw the movie and he got it."
Brady jumped all in for the Ted 2 cameo, even with the raunchy subject matter. Wahlberg pitched the idea over the phone to Brady who loved the idea about mocking his own stud image. Says Wahlberg:
"So when I called him. I told him what it was. As soon as he stopped laughing hysterically, he agreed to do it. Right away. He can't control his looks. He thinks it's silly the way people react to him sometimes. When people make a big deal about it. He just thought it was good to joke out of the whole thing. He was a good sport about it."

BRADY WAS BIGGER THAN THE PRESIDENT ON THE SET

Wahlberg, MacFarlane and the Boston crew moved from Boston to Foxborough specifically to film Brady, who was in Patriots training camp. They had only three hours to film the entire appearance involving John making a visit to "Brady's house" and then breaking in with Ted at night.

Brady was briefed on how to act to a blank space (Ted is digitally added).

The Boston-based crew was full-on star-stuck. Says producer Jason Clark:
"Tom showed up ready to have some fun. He seemed at ease with the idea of filming opposite the empty space where we would eventually add Ted. The guy did a fantastic job. The funniest thing about having Brady on the set was the stir he created with the crew and other cast members. It was like having the President visit the set."

WE GET TO SEE WHAT TOM BRADY LOOKS LIKE SLEEPING

Minus Gisele of course. She must have been out-of-town for this scene. But, look at that sleep bliss.

BRADY SCORES A TOUCHDOWN WITH THE PERFORMANCE

Brady throws a perfect bear spiral when kicking Ted out of his house and is legit funny in the cameo.  MacFarlane was not surprised.
"With someone like Tom Brady. There's a certain level of performance and showmanship that goes with most professional sports. And Tom Brady is a very skilled player. He's also a skilled performer. The theatrics of his playing are well-honed. He knows how to give you a show as well as win a game. And he was fantastic here."
